Speed Up OpenOffice.org

OpenOffice.org is a great open source office suite, but I've always felt that it takes too long to start up. Here's how to speed up your start up time:

Go to Tools > Options. Click on "Memory" change your settings accordingly (see the picture below).

I've only tried this in linux, but I believe the settings should also work for other operating systems.

Printer Take Apart

On Friday I received a printer from my very nice next-door neighbor. Printers are a great source for several electronic parts, namely, motors. I began to take the printer apart and so far have a lot of useful components.

Keep your screws tidy
Always gotta keep yo screws together

So far, I've only found 2 DC motors (alas, no steppers), but I'm hopeful that there are more motors hidden inside.
